Living here in the greater Portland-Metro area of Oregon we occasionally get a bit of a snow and ice storm. Unlike our friends on the east coast who get a snowy winter every year, we do not, so our drivers tend to be a bit over zealous and end up in their neighbors yard. So I come to you to write about how to drive in snow and ice and stay out of your neighbors yard. But wait? aren’t I an Oregonian? How do I know how to drive any better? Well, I have taken several skid car courses and spent endless days on the mountain skiing and driving through winter road conditions.

I will admit I made the same mistake many people make when adjusting their coilovers, just adjust each side by the same amount of “rings.” Example, I lower my driver side by 5 threads (rings), I should be able to lower the passenger side by the same amount and have a nice even ride height. I will tell you by my hellishness ordeal over the past week that this is by chance the worse idea ever.

It’s been about two weeks since I had the K-Sports installed on my 2006 TSX (Chassis CL9). I must say they have out performed my expectations. I have ridden on mainly Tein’s in friends cars and these K-Sports feel every bit as solid as their Tein’s. Relatively quiet, smooth but firm rebound, and moderately stiff spring rates make these coil overs and nice choice.

For a little over four months I’ve been riding on Tein H-Tech springs and OEM shocks/struts ( H-Tech Review) and the OEM’s were showing signs of the abuse. Even with just a 1.25″ drop they were suffering so it was time to upgrade to a full coil over system.
